The GEF Independent Evaluation Office articipated in two sessions at the 2018 UNEG Evaluation Practice Exchange (EPE):

The GEF replenishment meetings provide an opportunity for Contributing Participants to review GEF performance and evaluate progress, assess future funding needs, and agree on a financing framework. On April 25, 2018 during the fourth replenishment meeting, close to 30 countries have jointly pledged US$4.1 billion to the GEF to better protect the future of the planet and human well-being ( press release).
Juha I. Uitto, Director of the GEF Independent Evaluation Office, participated in the panel session on Hazards, Risks, and Disasters in the 2018 American Association of Geographers Annual Meeting held between April 10-14. Uitto discussed Climate Change and Environmental Hazards: Evaluation Strategies and Programs for Impact and Effectiveness. This session was held irom 8:00 - 9:40 am on Friday, April 13.

The 2nd Global Adaptation Network Forum focused on some of the most pressing challenges for climate change adaptation and provided an opportunity for decision makers, policy experts and practitioners to share knowledge and experience on how to address these challenges.The Forum was organized jointly by UN Environment's Global Adaptation Network and Zayed University in Abu Dhabi.
At its 51st meeting in October 2016, the GEF Council requested the Trustee, in cooperation with the Secretariat, to initiate discussions on the 7th replenishment of resources of the GEF Trust Fund (GEF-7).The 3rd replenishment meeting provided an opportunity for Contributing Participants to review GEF performance and evaluate progress, assess future funding needs, and agree on a financing framework.
