COP 17 - Energy Efficiency

On:

Energy efficiency remains a promising but elusive means for combining local economic benefits with greenhouse gas reductions. It is a keystone of plans to limit global temperature rise to 2 degrees, but many apparently profitable opportunities for energy efficiency remain ungrasped, due to market and policy barriers. This session presents lessons on how to overcome those barriers, based on independent evaluation of the experience of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Evaluation Office and of the International Finance Institutions (IFIs).

COP 17 Side Events

On:

The Global Environment Facility Evaluation Office, in cooperation with the GEF Secretariat and the World Bank Independent Evaluation Group, participated at two exciting side events at COP 17 in Durban, South Africa.

COP 17 - Adaptation in Practice

On:

Evaluations provide lessons learned from the first generation of adaptation interventions, from the development of National Adaptation Plans for Action (NAPA) to innovative approaches to specific adaptation problems. This event will present these lessons from the portfolios of the GEF, the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) and the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF). The lessons have already been incorporated in results-based frameworks and monitoring.
