National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) Conference 2017

The UNDP IEO and the Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS co-hosted with the Government of Turkey, the 2017 NEC Conference in Istanbul from 16 to 20 October 2017. The theme of the Conference was People, Planet and Progress in the SDG Era.

Juha I. Uitto, Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the GEF, spoke at the high-level plenary People and the planet: Is the environment being left behind? What are evaluations telling us? on October 19, 2017. The panel included Jyotsna Puri, Head of the Independent Evaluation Office of the Green Climate Fund; Diann Black-Layne, Ambassador and Chief Environment Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. Heather Bryant, Evaluation Advisor of the Independent Evaluation Office of UNDP will act as Moderator.

Uitto also spoke at the session Fishbowl: Independence, Credibility and Use of Evaluationson October 19, 2017 organized by Riita Oksanen, President of the European Evaluation Society.
