The Evaluation of the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) influences the COP22 guidance to the GEF.

The findings and conclusions Program Evaluation of the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) were welcomed by the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP22) in November 2016.

Based on this Program Evaluation, COP22 adopted guidance to the GEF, which requests the GEF to continue to enhance capacity development in the least developed countries for development of project proposals with a focus on identifying potential funding sources, both national and international, and enhancing long-term institutional capacities. The COP22 guidance also encourages the GEF to continue to track, review, and report on the sustainability of project outcomes from the Least Developed Countries Fund and the Special Climate Change Fund.
